Basic low cost entry
level system for simple heat distortion and
vicat softening point testing
Product Overview
Designed to evaluate the strength characteristics of plastic polymers when the temperature is increased at a set rate. Heat distortion determines the point on a temperature ramp at which a test sample, subject to a given bending stress, will deflect a predetermined amount. Vicat determines the point on a temperature ramp at which a loaded tip, having a precise area, will penetrate a test sample by a predetermined amount.
Basic entry level system for simple heat distortion and vicat softening point testing. Advanced dedicated microprocessor technology designed specifically for the apparatus. Design incorporates a communication link to the temperature controller enabling the control of the oil bath temperature to be accurately measured and recorded. Outputs from the Mitutoyo displacement gauges are accepted, analysed and directed by the microprocessor.
The station design is such
that the test stations do not have to be removed from the apparatus to
unload a sample.

Optional Test Weights
Test weights are priced
individually per station. If only one type of test is required it will
only be necessary to purchase one type of test weights.
HDT
A new system using a progression of weights has now been incorporated for HDT. A set of 14 different test weights with 1 gram progression is available which combine to give any load from 1 gram to 3119 grams. Loads are easily calculated based on the test sample dimensions and the fibre stress selected. A spreadsheet is provided to facilitate this calculation.
